In PS4 firmware update v2.00, Sony released an excellent new feature called Share Play which allows users to effectively "pass the controller" to a friend and take control of their game.
Here’s how you do it…
1. When playing a game, press SHARE on your DUALSHOCK 4 controller and then select START SHARE PLAY
– A private party will be created with you as the host.
2. Select someone from your friend’s list that you would like to invite to play your game
– Your friend will now connect to your PS4 and be able to watch you playing your game, providing both of your connections are stable.
3. To pass the controller, click on the PlayStation button on your DS4 and navigate to the headphone icon (Party)
4. Click on SHARE PLAY in the top-right hand corner and select the option to Give Controller to Visitor
5. You will then have two options – ‘Allow the visitor to play’ or ‘Play a game together.’ Selecting the first option will give your visitor control of your game, while the the second option will allow them to play with you, providing the game supports this function.
6. You can stop Share Play at any time by heading back to Party, selecting SHARE PLAY and clicking STOP SHARE PLAY.
