The latest Media Create data has confirmed that PlayStation 4 is set to eclipse the 500,000 units sold barrier in Japan this week (via NeoGAF).
Sony’s new home console was released in the Land of the Rising Sun on February 22. The console sold through 23,327 units for the week ended March 30, bringing overall sales to 493,338.
As such, this week’s performance is sure to take the console past the 500,000 milestone, unless for some miraculous reason PS4 is unable to shift around 7000 units — a highly unlikely prospect.
In terms of software, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is the only PS4 title in Japan’s Top 20, selling 12,374 — an 87 per cent drop over the previous week.
