Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS), has confirmed that the console maker has no plans to offer PlayStation 4 remote play on smartphones.
Speculation on the possible introduction of such a feature came about after Sony announced the PlayStation App, as well as comments from Yoshida-san about streaming PlayStation content to devices such as PCs and tablets.
As such, a Japanese gamer quizzed the executive on Twitter (via DualShockers) about the company’s plans.
“Hello Yoshida-san! Since the PS Vita can play almost all PS4 gamers with remote play, are there any plans to allow remote play by connecting to the DualShock 4 to smart devices in the future? I got very excited at the thought when I realized it,” he asked.
In response, Yoshida-san replied, “There are no plans.”
PS4 is due out in the U.S. on November 15 and in Europe on November 29.
