PlayStation 4 sold 3.3 million units globally during the period July – September 2014, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) announced today.
In addition, the format holder also confirmed that it sold through 800,000 PS3 consoles during the same three-month period.
PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita TV moved 700,000 units combined. As per usual, Sony opted not to divulge individual numbers for its handheld platforms.
Overall, the company’s PlayStation division sales were up by 84 percent year-on-year. Despite this, Sony as a whole posted a loss of 136 billion yen ($1.2 billion), which the firm attributed to the cost of restructuring its mobile business.
PS4 has now sold 13.5 million units since its launch in November last year.
