Sony Interactive Entertainment has released PS4 system update 12.00 for you to download today, which comes alongside the previously-release PS5 system update 24.06-10.00.00. As you have probably expect from PS4 firmware updates nowadays, this latest one doesn’t really do anything exciting.
The official PlayStation website doesn’t go into much detail on the new update, simply stating that “We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.” And that’s your lot!

The PS4 was released back in November 2013 in the US and EU and these days is a cheap option for people looking to jump into gaming for the first time, and has thousands of great games to back it up. The PS5 meanwhile is able to play almost all PS4 games, but if you’re still using the old work horse, it seems Sony isn’t stopping supporting it just yet in regards to system updates.
