Even working out how to download PS4’s new Playroom app AR Studio was difficult enough, but without any tutorials from Sony it was a case of experimenting with the various options in order to create our first show.
After our first attempt we were left with many questions, but the only source online for proper information that demonstrated what each of the features could do, and how to apply them to a show, was via YouTuber, Omar P Soto.
Though we could have created a tutorial ourselves, we thought Omar has done such a great job at explaining AR Studio and demonstrating it in a fun way that we’d feature his video as a solid guide to anyone starting off with Sony’s PS4 app.

Here’s a little bit about AR Studio.
Using the PS4 Camera, The Playroom became a way for PS4 owners to broadcast live ‘shows’ through the Live From PlayStation app. This piece of DLC is entirely built around that central concept. With AR Studio, formerly known as Set Maker, you can use your tablet or smartphone (Android or iOS), to turn your living room into a broadcasting studio.
Fill your sets with images or photos stored on your smart device, or draw your sets from scratch. You can also add various special effects to the screen like interactive smoke and lasers using your DualShock 4 controller. You will need to download the PlayStation App for your smart device, which you can get for free on either the App Store or Google Play.
PSU is already planning weekly content for the AR Studio app so stay tuned.
