The PS4 update 4.50 release date has yet to be officially revealed, though we suspect it’s due this week for the general public to download. However, we’ve caught wind of yet another new feature the hotly anticipated patch will implemented when it drops, possibly as early as today.

PS4 update 4.50 will feature a number of much-anticipated features, such as support for external hard drive units, custom wallpapers, and quick menu refresh. There’s also a new PS4 Pro Boost Mode, which allows games that haven’t yet been patched for Sony’s high-end console to receive a noticeable performance boost.

According a recent report, the PS4 update 4.50 release is set for today alongside a new PSVR patch, so stay tuned for more information on that as we get it.
