PS4 update 4.55 released, patch notes confirmed

ps4 update 4.55

Sony has rolled out PS4 update 4.55 for users to download this morning, though unlike the last major software update, there’s not much here to get excited about other than some improvements to console performance.

According to the official blurb from Sony, PS4 system software update 4.55 “improves the quality of the system performance.” That’s about it, although this type of update is fairly common for PS4 nowadays, as Sony works to incrementally improve the stability of its flagship home console every few months.

The console’s last major patch came in the shape of PS4 update 4.50, which added a number of extra features to enjoy including custom wallpapers, PS4 Pro Boost Mode, and support for external hard drives. Despite this, the update did cause some outrage among gamers due to issues with the notification system.
