PS4 vs Xbox One sales – Sony’s console wins due to ‘high resolution,’ says study

In the PS4 vs Xbox One sales battle. PS4 is being purchased over the Xbox One due to Sony’s current-generation console being able to display a higher resolution on some titles, according to a new study.

The study, as reported by Neilson, found that gamers plumped for PS4 over the Xbox One due to a number of factors, including better resolution, its games library, and its ability to play Blu-ray movies.

Those who do purchase Xbox One do so due to their loyalty to Microsoft’s games console and its ‘innovative features.’

A number of major third-party video games over the past 12 months or so have performed slightly better on PS4, including Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, Dying Light, and more.

In fact, the next chapter in the Battlefield franchise, Hardline, has been confirmed to run at 900p on PS4 and 720p on Xbox One.

Indeed, it seems ‘resolution gate’ isn’t going anywhere just yet.
