The creator behind the BioShock franchise has said that PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One are fairly similar from a hardware perspective.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Ken Levine commented, “From a hardware perspective, the PC and the Xbox and the PS4 are very much similar beasts in a lot of ways,” before adding it will be the “software…and the services they provide” which will set them apart.
Despite the impending release of Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation consoles, Levine revealed that his team at Irrational Games is fully focused on BioShock: Infinite’s forthcoming expansion, Burial at Sea.
"We’re really focused on [Burial at Sea]" said Levine. "I think there are some people who are… There are people in the team who are working on our engine technology in general. Just like, there are things you do, tools and stuff, but we’ve not really… This is our entire focus.
"And being a one-team company, really we don’t even have the bandwidth to think about that stuff right now."
Levine isn’t the only one to observe the similarities between PS4 and Xbox One hardware. Last week, id Software co-founder John Carmack commented, ‘it’s weird how close they are.’
