As confirmed earlier today, PS4K (codenamed Neo) does exist and will be a high-end version of the current PS4 model, designed to support 4K T.V.s and sport the internal ‘oomph’ to power PlayStation VR games to the best of their ability. However, there will be no exclusive games for the new PS4K model.
Andrew House broke the news in an interview with the Financial Times, where he confirmed that there will no exclusive games made for the new console.
New PS4K model won’t get exclusive games
"All games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4," he said.
Though PS4K won’t be showcased at E3 2016 next week, certainly not in its physical form, it is going to be interesting to find out whether Sony utilises the new hardware for some of its trailers and gameplay demos during the Sony E3 2016 press conference on Tuesday, which you can watch live on PlayStation Universe.
A price for PS4K has not been confirmed, though we do know it will be more expensive than the current hardware. A release date has yet to be revealed.
