PS4’s Shadow of the Eternals dev ‘hasn’t given up’ despite not reaching Kickstarter goal

The developer behind Shadow of the Eternals has revealed it hasn’t given up on the title after the project failed to reach its Kickstarter goal.

Precursor Games intended to get the spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem off the ground via crowd funding, requesting a start-up funding of $750,000. However, last week the Kickstarter concluded with only $323,950 raised.

“It is unfortunate that we are unable to crowd-fund this project at this time, but we have not given up,” the studio said. “We intend to pursue other avenues with the ultimate goal of having our games come to fruition.”

“The Order of the Unseen actively collaborated with us to create Shadow of the Eternals, and unwaveringly campaigned to help bring the game to life. When we began, we never imagined that we would meet so many amazing and creative people. Our community made this venture entirely worth it. Thank you for everything,” Precursor added.

Shadow of the Eternals was originally conceived as an episodic release during its initial Kickstarter, but was switched to a full game package on its second attempt.
