PS4’s Shadow of the Eternals ‘sanity system’ detailed, losing our mind never looked so appealing

Shadow of the Eternals, the kickstarter-funded title by Precursor Games, has received fresh footage detailing the horror adventure’s Sanity System.

Like its spiritual predecessor Eternal Darkness, the player character(s) within Shadow of the Eternals will experience severe psychological stress as they venture through the horrors within the game, resulting in a loosening grip on reality.

However, unlike Eternal Darkness, losing your sanity has its advantages. For example, your character may experience the room starting to rotate, allowing you to access a previously-unreachable doorway. It also ties into magic and combat, too.

Check out the video demonstration below. Shadow of the Eternals is still in its kickstarter phase with the eventual goal of releasing on Wii U and a ‘stretch goal’ of coming to PlayStation 4.
