Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the PS5 Pro will not come with a built-in disc drive and will instead offer punters the option of adding it via the already-available Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive as with the regular PS5.
Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, the format holder confirmed that the PS5 Pro is a disc-less console just the same as the current PS5 Digital-Only Edition. However, unlike the regular model, there isn’t an option to buy one with a disc drive; you’ll have to buy the Ultra Blu-ray disc drive separately if you want to use discs.
