PS5 Pro Tops Japanese Hardware In Debut Week With Over 78,000 Units Sold

The PS5 Pro has gotten off to an impressive start in its native Japan, with the latest Famitsu figures revealing that Sony’s high-end console has moved 78,086 units during its debut week.

Given the fact PS5 Pro is priced significantly higher than the standard version of the console, it’s definitely impressive to see the new console attract this number of buyers. Furthermore, combined sales of the PS5 family for that week reached 95,160, making the most successful of the three platform holders during the period November 4 — November 10, 2024.

It also utilises Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which is an upscaling technique used to improve image quality.

Beyond that, the Game Boost is also able to enhance the quality of more than 8,500 backwards compatible PS4 titles, while some PS5 games also benefit from this feature without the need for an Enhanced patch.
