The PS5 Slim has received a $50 price cut at major retailers this week ahead of next month’s launch of the PS5 Pro, so if you’re in the market for the regular console, now is a good time to pick one up.
The standard PS5 with a disc drive can be snapped up for $449.99 while the PS5 Digital Edition costs $399.99, and there’s various bundles available including a $449.99. As mentioned, this price cut is effective at major retailers, among them including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Sony’s own PlayStation Direct.

The PS5 Slim was released last year and aims to replace the original launch model of Sony’s latest home console. Its design is sleeker than its older, chunkier brother, and the Digital Edition allows for users to attach a PS5 Disc Drive if you want to use it play physical media. It’s a cheaper alternative to the incoming PS5 Pro, which will set you back $699.99/£699.99.
PS5 Pro offers more power under the hood and employs Sony’s fancy new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to improve performance of games, such as increased frame rates and high fidelity visuals.
