Sony has yet to announce the PS5 slim release date, but prominent leaker and dataminer billbil-kun has unearthed the expected date for the console revamp: November 10, 2023.
While this isn’t official yet, it’s worth remembering that the leaker has been very accurate in the past when it comes to revealing various PlayStation-related content, including a 100% track record when it comes to outing the PS Plus lineups ahead of Sony’s announcement.
Insider Gaming as verified the date with its own sources, and it notes that Sony has around 4.5 million PS5 Slims ready for distribution. Furthermore, it is reported that the format holder has slashed its forecast for the revamped console from 18 million to 14 million during FY23.
The PS5 Slim will come in standard and digital editions, with the former being able to attach a disc drive that will be sold separately. The console will continue to support expandable storage, and Sony will be selling its remaining stock of the current PS5 model before permanently replacing it with the Slim version.
