PS5 System Software Update 26.04-13.40.00 Out Now – Full Patch Notes Listed

Sony Interactive Entertainment has released PS5 system software update 26.04-13.40.00, although don’t get too excited, as it doesn’t add any significant features for the console.

As per Sony’s official website, the PS5 firmware 26.04-13.40.00 patch notes confirm the following:

  • We’ve improved system software performance and stability.

The PS5 now over five years old, having launched during the midst of the global coronavirus outbreak back in November 2020. As a result, the console was in very short supply after the initial launch batch sold out, resulting in scalpers snapping up any restock and reselling the system at exorbitant prices. It would be nearly two years before the PS5 was readily available worldwide as a result of the shortages.

Sony recently held a State of Play broadcast that gave us a look at the next wave of PS5 titles, which includes Marvel’s Wolverine, Until Dawn 2, God of War Laufey and more.
