Back in September, Sony released a PS5 system software update that included a number of key features including turning on Enhance PSSR Image Quality as the default setting, improvements to performance and stability, and added the Community Activity widget to the Welcome Hub.
The PS5 originally launched in November 2020 during the middle of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, which resulted in major stock shortages that would go on to last more than 18 months. The console released in two versions – a disc-based model and a digital-only edition – with Sony later releasing a slim version of the PS5 alongside a more powerful edition known as PS5 Pro.
The format holder has been making waves recently for its controversial decision to scrap production of physical game discs on PlayStation in January 2028.
