Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that the PS5 Tournaments feature is now available following a period of three months of Beta testing. The feature was previously only released for the PS4, so it’s the firs time users are able to get their hands on it for Sony’s latest hardware.
The release of PS5 Tournaments brings shorter tournament times, a seamless sign-up process for console users, a revamped user interface, and real-time updates among others. Among the games that will support PS5 Tournaments right out of the gate include Guilty Gear Strive, NBA 2K23 and FIFA 23.
Meanwhile, the console maker revealed that users can take part in the PlayStation Tournaments: Win-A-Thon on PS4 & PS5 from December 1 — January 31, offering heaps of prizes up for grabs, including cash, PS5 consoles, and the new DualSense Edge wireless controller.
PlayStation Tournaments on PlayStation 5 will also coincide with the launch of a new PlayStation Tournaments Discord server. Players will be able to connect here to engage more deeply with the PlayStation competitive community. In this destination, we’ll host interviews and play sessions with major figures in the esports community alongside other special content. Here you’ll find regular updates on esports events, articles, videos, and gaming news.
