The arrival of PS5 and Xbox Series X will ‘absolutely’ push visuals beyond the already-stunning facial animations seen in Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2, says programmer Francisco Aisa.
Next-Gen To Push The Last Of Us Part 2 Quality Even Higher, Says Aisa
Aisa, who has worked with multiple developers including Naughty Dog and Rockstar Games – serving gameplay programmer on Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 for the latter – believes that the quality seen in The Last of Us Part 2 is only going to increase with new consoles.
Here’s what he said during an interview with Gaming Bolt:
If you look at The Last of Us Part 2, you just look at their facial expressions, they are so good, some of them blow my mind. And remember, I saw them every day, they still blow my mind. That sort of quality is going to get even higher.
A lot of it is part of the amount of data we are going to be able to deal with. So I do think we will see a trend not just of bigger worlds, but more believable ones with more believable characters as well.
The Last of Us Part 2 is out now for the PS4, while the PS5 and Xbox Series X are due for release in holiday 2020.
