PSN down for unscheduled maintenance worldwide (Update)

psn down

Update: According to the PSN status site, "all services should be up and running." Game on, people! If there’s any new changes, we’ll let you know.

Original Story:

Whle Sony’s PlayStation Network just went offline a few days ago, it seems it’s experiencing another issue as of this moment. If you log in now and you find yourself faced unable to, don’t worry, it’s not you. PSN down time is here once again, and just in time for the weekend, I’m afraid

Trying to log in now gives me a "WC-40383-8" error code which is for scheduled maintenance. However, checking the PSN status page, you’ll see that there is scheduled maintenance planned, but it’s for September 20, and should last only 20 minutes. You’ll also see that "some services are experiencing issues" for account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Store, and more.

The official Ask PlayStation Twitter account has, to date, not tweeted any update.

Is this the PSN servers being hammered by everyone in the world trying to play Destiny 2? Maybe, maybe not. Let’s hope it’s not another hack. Once we know more, we’ll update the post.
