PSN down? Quick fix to get back online

If you’re still trying to access the PlayStation Network following the Christmas Day DDoS attack, there may be a way for you to get back online.

As of today, December 29, we were still unable to access online games or sign into the PSN, but after scouring the net for possible solutions, we came across this quick fix which has immediately enabled us to access the Network and play the likes of Destiny.

Here’s what you do:

Step 1 – Go to Settings > Network > Set up Internet Connection

Step 2 – Select Custom set-up and scroll through the settings (changing nothing) until you reach MTU setting

Step 3- Make a note of your MTU number and then change it to 1473

Step 4 – Try accessing the PlayStation Store or an online game

This fix has worked for a lot of users, but there is a chance it still may not work. If it doesn’t work, try changing the number to 1450.

You should also remember your original MTU number (usually 1500) should you ever need to revert back. If it doesn’t work, we suggest you input the original setting.

Thanks to PushSquare for the tip-off.
