PlayStation Network is down for thousands of users ahead of its scheduled maintenance on Thursday, January 15.
PSU first noticed the outage when we attempted to log on this evening. Early Twitter reports confirmed it was a widespread outage. Shortly after, Down Detector received tens of thousands of reports.
Sony responded (a bit sooner than usual) with a tweet via @AskPlayStation, admitting the problem is affecting “some users” and putting engineers on the case.
We’re aware that some of you are having issues connecting to the PSN. Engineers are investigating.

For now, that’s all we’ve got to go on, though our most recent attempts to sign in have been successful. How is the network holding up for you?
