PSN issues, including sign-in and game access, may be due to Minecraft release

PlayStation gamers are reporting trouble signing into and maintaining a consistent connection with PlayStation Network, and Minecraft may be to blame.

A series of tweets from @AskPlayStation, the official Twitter account for North American PlayStation support, indicates that user reports of PSN issues are more than coincidence.

Our own PSU forum members, emblematic of the wider PlayStation nation, have reported issues ranging from the inability to play multiplayer games like Final Fantasy XIV and FIFA 14 to being unable to complete downloads or sign in at all.

It seems that all our woes may simply be due to a large number of people trying to download and play Minecraft, which released for PS4 today.
