PSP & Monster Hunter Freedom 3 dominate Japan

Sony’s PSP continues to pull in the punters over in the Land of the Rising sun this past week, thanks in no small part to the monumental success of Capcom’s Monster Hunter Freedom 3.

The handheld moved a whopping 164,507 units for the week ended December 19, kicking mud in the face of Nintendo’s DS and Wii, which shifted 148,177 and 99,681 units each, respectively.

Meanwhile, Monster Hunter sold an eye-watering 581,543 during the same time frame, bringing life-to-date sales of the sequel to over a staggering three million units.
