It seems every year around this time we talk about how many great titles came out over the past 12 months. Without sounding like too much of a broken record, we can safely say that 2011 was another stellar year for PlayStation 3 exclusives. This was not, however, a big year for new IPs as every game nominated in our list was a sequel, and they were all sequel to very popular Sony exclusives.
While we take a look back at 2011, you’ll see hit games like inFamous 2, Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Resistance 3 make their mark and spark some sharp enthusiasm from fans. All of these exclusives were great sequels and they all scored quite well here by the PSU staff, and our community. With a mix of the clever platformer from LBP 2, the superhero-inspired electrifying action game in inFamous 2, and the super shooters like Killzone 3 and Resistance 3, there was something for everyone in 2011.
But, let’s face it, anytime Naughty Dog sneezes PlayStation fans get excited. This year they delivered a successful follow-up to Uncharted 2, something we all had hoped for, but were rightfully skeptical the sequel could stand up against such a powerhouse. The simple answer is yes, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception met our expectations, and therefore deserved a spot on our list of nominations for best PS3 exclusives.

… and the winner is
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception with 58 out of 79 community votes
Every time Nathan Drake graces a PS3 game, the competition has an awful tough job at getting any recognition. While Uncharted 3 won in a landslide, LittleBigPlanet 2 secured a solid 10 votes with Killzone 3 and inFamous 2 rounding out our list. But, this year’s best PS3 exclusive is Uncharted 3. Naughty Dog gave fans of the series everything they wanted. There were Hollywood-inspired mega action sequences, massive gun battles, sexy acquaintances, witty dialogue, puzzles, and of course, incredible graphics. Some of our community members have said the game didn’t quite live up to its predecessor, but it was still more than powerful enough to secure its rightful spot as the best PS3 exclusive in 2011.
