Best Sound Design – Silent Hill 2 Remake
Another win for Bloober Team, although to be fair, Silent Hill 2 Remake was always a strong contender thanks to the masterful work of Akira Yamaoka. The psychological horror excels in atmosphere building; whether it’s Yamaoka’s sombre score that pulls at the heartstrings and evokes a sense of isolation and fear, or the chilling, almost inhuman-sounding ambience, Silent Hill 2 Remake is unrivalled. Best of all, it knows when it pull back on the reins where necessary, never going too far without reason – more isn’t always better, after all.
