Best Online Game – Helldivers 2
Best Online Game is a new entry in PSU’s Game Of The Year Awards, meant to go beyond just multiplayer games and highlight the games that use online services to provide a fun and unique gaming experience, and with that in mind it’s no surprise that Helldivers 2 dominated the votes in this category.
Arrowhead Games not only created one of the best multiplayer experiences available in games today, but innovated in what it means to be in conversation with a game’s community. It’s a unique blend of multiplayer and narrative on a scale that’s not so massive it pulls away from ever being understood, while also creating space for players to tell their own stories within the greater world.
As an online experience, Helldivers 2 is a stellar example of how to do it right.
