Sony has now officially confirmed PSVR 2 for PS5, a next-generation VR system we can all look forward to. Well, buried away in that announcement, the new headset will use a single cord for set-up rather than a number of connections.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Sony says that this new headset will “connect to PS5 with a single cord to simplify setup and improve ease-of-use, while enabling a high-fidelity visual experience.”
This is great to know and is one of the things we are most excited about for the new system. The current PSVR is clunky and features a lot of cables, which can be hard to set-up and keep organised, so this singular cord should make everything a whole lot simpler.
There is no mention as to whether this headset will be completely cordless like some have speculated, with this single cable connecting to a wireless box or hub the headset connects to, but we could still see it being wired.
