PSVR 2 Shooter Firewall Ultra Will No Longer Be Playable From September 17

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that Firewall Ultra, the PSVR 2 shooter developed by the now-defunct First Contact Entertainment, is shutting down on September 17, 2026. The game is now delisted from the PlayStation Store.

The format holder confirmed the news in an updated PlayStation Blog post originally posted back in August 2023, which reads as follows:

Online features for Firewall Ultra will be terminated and will no longer be available on September 17, 2026. As you must be online to play this title, this game will no longer be playable starting September 17, 2026 at 10:00am PDT (GMT -7)

The sequel to 2018’s PSVR shooter, Firewall Ultra brings with it new enhancements including eye tracking, which allows you to avoid the blinding light of a flashlight by closing your eyes, or closing your non-dominant eye to aim down the sights of your weapon.

Meanwhile, the PSVR 2 Sense Controllers further add a new layer of immersion to the proceedings, with adaptive triggers allowing you to feel the level of resistance in your weapons. Haptic feedback will also reward you with a solid kick as you fire a powerful weapon such as the shotgun, making you feel part of the gun battle. You can read our full review here.
