Quantic Dream Confirms Star Wars Eclipse Development Is ‘Continuing As Planned’

Developer Quantic Dream has issued a statement regarding its in-development Star Wars Eclipse following reports that striking staff that they require additional resources to finish the project.

Back in April 2026, it was reported by Insider Gaming sources that progress on Star Wars Eclipse was “very slow going,” with the project having made “very little progress” over the past few months. It was also suggested that the project is still years off from completion.

More recently, Gamekult reported that Quantic Dream was looking at laying off 115 of its employees in wake of the cancellation of Spellcasters Chronicles, sparking a STJV union-organised strike that took place in front of its Paris HQ. Striking staff claimed that the game was in danger of being cancelled.

Quantic Dream had the following to say:

As previously stated, the development of Star Wars Eclipse remains unaffected by the recent closure of Spellcasters Chronicles, a decision driven by the challenging market conditions in that segment. The development of Star Wars Eclipse is continuing as planned, with the full commitment of its team and all the necessary resources to complete its mission. Our priority is to ensure that employees affected by the restructuring process receive the appropriate support, care, and consideration. Out of respect for this ongoing process and for the employees concerned, we will not provide any further comment at this stage.

Star Wars Eclipse has yet to attract a release date.
