A highly interactive, monthly lifestyle gaming program covering the world of PlayStation? Sounds incredible, but no such program exists.
Actually, that’s wrong. No such program has existed, but that will be rectified this coming Thursday. Introducing Qore for the PlayStation Network. Qore is an interactive, episodic series covering all things PlayStation set to debut on the US PlayStation Network in the upcoming weekly PlayStation Store update. The program, hosted by the lovely Veronica Belmont, will feature exclusive news, developer interviews, in-depth game previews, behind-the-scenes looks at PlayStation games and special access to game demos, special beta invitations, game add-ons and other downloadable game-related content.
This monthly TV magazine hybrid will kick off with an episode focused on SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Secret Agent Clank, Soul Calibur 4 and Afro Samurai. It’ll even contain the latest Blu-ray Disc trailers, an exclusive SOCOM: Confrontation theme, an invitation to the SOCOM: Confrontation beta, art galleries and other surprises.
Obviously, this content comes at a price. Considering the vastness of material though, $2.99 for a single episode and $24.99 for an annual subscription of 13 episodes really isn’t all that much. What is rather unfortunate is that Qore is "an SCEA-only initiative at this time." We’ll keep you updated if that policy changes. Until then, look out for the premier episode of Qore on June 5, 2008 and make sure to check out the reveal trailer below.
