A trademark for Radec Engine was filed in Japan on September 1 by Square Enix, suggesting the company has more than one internal engine up its sleeves.
The Final Fantasy publisher currently operates one known public engine in the form of the Luminous Engine, which was developed by Luminous Productions. The engine is powering the upcoming Forspoken. Elsewhere, Square Enix also utilises commercially available tech including Unreal Engine 4 and Unity.
