If you liked what you saw of MercurySteam’s Raiders of the Broken Planet, you’ll be glad to know that there’s an open beta happening right now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC! In the press release, MercurySteam announced the Raiders of the Broken Planet beta details, and mentioned it will be available today, and will last until September 18, Monday 10 a.m. GMT (6 a.m. ET).
Players will be given access to the Prologue, which contains two missions, "First Round" and "Hanging by a Thread." First Round is a tutorial mission focusing on grou leader Harec, and it acts as the opening missions of the game. Hanging by a Thread is a single-player and multiplayer mission, that showcases Raiders of the Broken Planet’s 4v1 Antagonist mode. Check out some of the gameplay you should expect from this third-person cover shooter.
Raiders of the Broken Planet will be available next week, on September 22, and players will be able to download the Prologue free at launch, which will be accompanied by the first campaign "Alien Myths" for $9.99. Three more campaigns will be released at regular intervals and they are: Wardog Fury, Hades Betrayal, and Council’s Apocalypse. According to MercurySteam, each campaign will tell a parallel story focusing on different members of the Raiders, while also adding new characters at the same time.
Additionally, purchasing a campaign will grant a number of invite passes, that will allow players to invite their friends to play through the campaign with them even if these people don’t own the game.
Will you be giving the Raiders of the Broken Planet beta a go? If so, let us know what you make of it so far.
