Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s will enter its open beta for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on November 25, Ubisoft has announced.
The upcoming squad-based shooter entered a closed beta earlier this year, although this latest tester will allow anyone to get a glimpse at the hotly anticipated title. However, those of you who participated in the closed beta will be able gain entry to the open beta one day early on November 24.
In addition to providing gamers some hands-on time with Rainbow Six Siege, the beta will also introduce a number of new elements that were not previously featured in the closed beta session.
For starters, there’s 14 playable operators in the beta to pick from, which is only six fewer than the full game’s roster. Among the game modes that are available in the beta include Secure Area and Bomb, along with a cooperative Terrorist Hunt – Disarm Bomb mode, which supports up to five players. A total of three maps will be included, each featuring day and night variations.
The beta will run from November 25 – November 29, with preloading available on all platforms available from November 23. Rainbow Six Siege is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on December 1, making it one of the last major releases of the year alongside Just Cause 3. The game has been confirmed to run at 1080p on Sony’s current-generation console and will support a Season Pass featuring weapon skins and extra challenges among other content.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege takes the form of a first-person shooter and is powered by the AnvilNext game engine. The game is also considered a proper successor to the canceled project, Rainbow Six: Patriots. Siege places a large emphasis on environmental destruction and co-op between players as they team up to conquer opposing forces.
