The latest Rainbow Six Siege PS4 update has been causing some serious problems for those who have downloaded the update.
According to reports, the issues with the update range from PS4 systems crashing to, more alarmingly, entire hard drives being wiped.
The problems appear to stem from attempting to access your friends list from in-game.
“Players have reported a crashing issue regarding the party invitation,” said a spokesperson for Ubisoft. “We are cooperating with Sony on this issue and would advise you to not use this feature until a resolution is found.”
Rainbow Six Siege was released for the PS4 back in December 2015, and has received extensive support from Ubisoft since launch with various expansion in the ‘Operation’ series, the most recent being Operation Blood Orchid.
Ubisoft recently included a tribute in Rainbow Six Siege for a player who sadly passed away earlier this year, which can be found in the new Theme Park map.
The French publishing giant confirmed back in August that the tactical shooter had reached 20 million registered players since launch.
Originally, Ubisoft had planned to develop a new entry in the Rainbow Six franchise known as Rainbow Six: Patriots, which featured a hard-hitting narrative. However, the project was ultimately cancelled due to various technical issues, and so Siege was born in an effort to reboot the series.
