Rainbow Six Siege season pass detailed, features weapon skins and challenges

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Season Pass has been detailed by Ubisoft, confirming a host of in-game bonus items for inclusion in the pack.

For those who don’t know, the Season Pass will retail for $29.99 or you can pick it up as part of the Rainbow Six Siege Gold Edition. Those of you forking out for the Season Pass can look forward to bagging the following content:

  • Seven-day exclusive early access to the eight new operators, which you can instantly add to your roster upon their release.
  • Permanent five per cent Renown boost that will allow you to unlock content quicker.
  • The exclusive Season Pass Porter weapon skin.
  • The Safari Bundle of five weapons skins.
  • Two extra daily Renown-earning challenges (giving you a total of five).
  • 600 R6 Credits ($4.99, so about £3.30) that can be used to purchase additional in-game content, like weapon skins.

Rainbow Six Siege is scheduled to ship for PS4, PC, and Xbox One on December 1. The game has been confirmed to run at 1080p for Sony’s current-generation console.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege takes the form of a first-person shooter and is powered by the AnvilNext game engine. The game is also considered a proper successor to the canceled project, Rainbow Six: Patriots. Siege places a large emphasis on environmental destruction and co-op between players as they team up to conquer opposing forces. The game takes place several years after the deactivation of the Rainbow Program, which has been started up again by a mysterious individual known only as ‘Six.’

Gamers are pitted against a new foe known as The White Masks as they assume control of an operator in the Rainbow squad. Each operator will be unique in the sense they have their own nationality, perks, abilities and equipment to make use of in battle. While there is a heavy emphasis on multiplayer co-op action, Rainbow Six Siege will also incorporate a single-player campaign for those who wish to tackle things solo, though you can team up with a friend if you wish. Other modes include Hostage and Terrorist Hunt, the latter previously known as TerroHunt.
