Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus release date revealed, no PS Vita version ‘at this time’

Insomniac Games has confirmed that Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus will be released in Europe on November 13.

The buddy combat-platform romp pulls the curtains down on the ‘Future’ series, which began with the PlayStation 3-exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction. Quest for Booty and A Crack In Time soon followed.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog today, Insomniac’s Community Managing, James Stevenson, commented, “Some of you have asked us why we made a shorter Ratchet game.

“The truth is, we relished this ability to tie a bow on the PS3 era of Ratchet with a shorter title. All of us love the Ratchet universe – and after 12 years developing the series, it feels like a very close friend.

“We have a lot of stories to tell, some longer, some shorter. This one felt just right. It’s a very polished self-contained return to the Ratchet adventures of yore. It’s impactful, too; filled with planet-hopping, guns blazing, joke-cracking Ratchet & Clank, and events happen here that will change Ratchet forever. Think of it as a small epic,” he added.

Pre-ordering the title at participating retailers will net you Ratchet’s Pyronox Armour, which reduces damage by five per cent.

Yesterday it emerged that a PlayStation Vita and mobile version of Into the Nexus was seemingly in the works following a listing for the game on the ESRB’s official website.

However, in response to the possibility of a PS Vita release, Stevenson told fans, "We haven’t announced a Vita version at this time. We would love for there to be one but only if it’s the quality our fans expect and deserve."
