The Australian Classification board has posted a rating for Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition for PS5 and Nintendo Switch, which lists Atari as the developer and publisher of the unannounced project.
While this may seem a surprise given that Rayman is a Ubisoft property, Atari is known for working on a number of major IPs outside its own projects, including Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection. Meanwhile U&I Entertainment, who is listed in the rating as the applicant, has worked as distributor for Ubisoft and Atari games in the past.
Chatter on the Rayman franchise has kicked up a notch in the last 18 months or so. Back in October 2024, Ubisoft revealed during a statement to Koatku that “Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan have recently started an exploration phase on the Rayman brand.”
Fast forward to September 2025, and a report from Insider Gaming stated that Project Steamboat, a Rayman Legends Remake project, is progressing well and slated to launch in late 2026. Given Ubisoft’s recent company overhaul and its delaying of seven games however, it’s unknown if this project will see the light of day this year.
Recently, Tom Henderson claimed that there are two Rayman projects in the works, one of them being the aforementioned Project Steambot and the other codenamed Iceman, which is set to launch “very, very soon” as a celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. Presumably, this is the Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition mentioned above.
