Relax, Resident Evil 3 Remake’s Safe Rooms Are Free From Nemesis’ Interference

Capcom has clarified that the safe rooms in Resident Evil 3 remake are in fact, well, safe from the marauding Nemesis, despite reports last week stating the S.T.A.R.S. killer could invade these areas.

Turns out that report, which hailed from the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine and found its way to Reddit, wasn’t entirely accurate. So, Nemesis won’t be barging in on you as you’re busy saving your game on typewriter, presumably waiting patiently outside just like Mr. X in Resident Evil 2.

Resident Evil 3 Save Rooms Are Nemesis-Free Zone

It turns out that the room that Nemesis invaded during OXM’s preview was not actually a safe room. You see, there’s areas in that game that contain typewriters to save, but they’re not a proper ‘safe’ room, so to speak. You’ll know these areas by the familiar tune that plays, just like the previous Resi games.

Resident Evil 3 remake safe rooms are free from Nemesis

Resident Evil 3 remake is scheduled for release on April 3 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The game takes places 24 hours before and after Resident Evil 2, and sees former S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team member Jill Valentine attempting to escape a zombie-infested Raccoon City.

Aside from battling her way through legions of flesh-eating zombies and other creatures, Jill is stalked by the inexorable Nemesis, a new breed of Tyrant manufactured by Umbrella Europe that is on the hunt for all remaining S.T.A.R.S. members.

Resident Evil 3 remake also ships with the multiplayer title Resident Evil Resistance, which sees groups of survivors attempting to escape puzzle rooms while being obstructed by another player, who controls the mysterious Mastermind.

The original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was released on the PlayStation back in November 1999 in the US and February 2000 in the UK.
