The director of FBC: Firebreak has revealed that The Old Gods of Asgard, the heavy metal band most famous for appearing in a number of Remedy title including Alan Wake 2, will not be showing up in the upcoming shooter.
Speaking with VGC, Mike Kayatta was asked if the band would be putting in an appearance in FBC: Firebreak, to which he responded, “unfortunately, no,” before following with, “at launch” while laughing at the idea of The Old Gos of Asgard being made playable characters.
Elsewhere, Kayatta was also quizzed if The Threshold Kids or Anti the Janitor would be seen in FBC: Firebreak, to which he replied, “no comment.”

The Old Gods of Asgard are portrayed by real-life rock band Poets of the Fall, and have contributed many of their songs to the likes of Alan Wake, Alan Wake 2, and Control. Alan Wake 2 was notable for featuring the band heavily, as they performed the song Herald of Darkness, which was also given the live treatment at The Game Awards 2023 alongside a number of actors from the game.
FBC: Firebreak is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on June 17, 2025.
