Report: PS Vita browser will not support Flash at launch

According to a report from Famitsu, the internet browser for PlayStation Vita will not support Flash at launch, but it will support Javascript version 1.7 and HTML5, similarly to iPhones. Vita will come packed with plenty of features at launch, including trophy support, friends, group messaging, video, Near, photo & camera, Party, remote play, internet browser, and more.

While Vita is backwards compatible with PSP games, you will need to transfer your save files through your PlayStation 3 or PC. Game Archives, downloadable PSOne and TurboGrafx-16 support in Japan, titles will not be supported at launch. Famitsu’s FAQ says Game Archives aren’t supported at launch, but Sony says PSOne games are supported. If this is the case, we’ll likely see a patch or update to allow this function.
