Capcom News PS4 Resident Evil 3 Resident Evil 3 remake

Resident Evil 3 Remake’s Concept Is About Fear Of Being Pursued, Says Capcom

Resident Evil 3 remake producer Masao Kawada has spilled some new details about the upcoming survival horror title in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine. Chiefly, Kawada-san says the concept of the game is based around the fear of being pursued, which isn’t a surprise given the fact Nemesis will chase you throughout the game.

Kawada also reveals that the game’s concepts include Jill’s beauty, the process of escaping a base, and of course, the fear instilled by the Nemesis, aka the Pursuer.

Elsewhere, he revealed that Resident Evil 3 will have more rearranged elements compared to the remake of Resident Evil 2, and that the team has made some additional modifications to Nemesis. Furthermore, while the story follows the original 1999 version, the new content allows veteran fans to enjoy a fresh take on the narrative.

Kawada also touched on Brad Vickers, the cowardly chopper pilot seen in the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. His role has been expanded upon this time around, and he’s been busy with other work with the surviving S.T.A.R.S. members.

This can partly be seen in the game’s reveal trailer, where it appears Brad is helping Jill to get survivors to safety. If you’ve played the original Resident Evil 3, then you’ll know his fate.

Finally, Kawada revealed that while Resident Evil 2 remake highlighted the fear of zombies, Resi 3 is more about action. However, there’s still plenty of elements that identify it as a Resident Evil game despite the increase in action.

Resident Evil 3 is scheduled for release on April 3 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The game takes place 24 hours before and after Resident Evil 2, and sees Jill Valentine attempting to escape Raccoon City following a T-Virus outbreak.

The original game came out on PSOne in 1999 and is also available for PC, Dreamcast, and GameCube.
