Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has revealed that combined downloads for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live demo of the game have surpassed the four million mark.
The demo arrived under a week’s exclusivity for Xbox 360 at the end of January, with the PS3 version arriving on February 2. Japanese punters got their hands on the demo last December – the lucky blighters.
Resident Evil 5 takes place a decade after the events of the original game, with players hopping into the shoes of veteran zombie-slayer, Chris Redfield, who is now a prominent member of the Bio-Terrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA).
Teaming up with newcomer Sheva Alomar, Redfield is dispatched to Kijuju to investigate the latest bio-terrorism threat, where the pair discover blood-thirsty locals, hulking beasts and a few familiar faces.
The game hits stores on March 13.
