Resident Evil 7 demo – here’s all the endings we’ve found so far and how to get them

Resident Evil 7 biohazard is coming to PlayStation 4 with full PlayStation VR support in early 2017, but you don’t have to wait until then to get your paws on Capcom’s upcoming scare fest. Yep, the publisher has kindly offered gamers a teaser demo on the PlayStation Store, offering a 20-minute look at the latest chapter in its venerable survival horror series—and boy, does it make us want to invest in some spare underpants.

By now you’ve probably tucked into the demo a few times, but it’s probably worth mentioning that the Resident Evil 7 Beginnings demo is packed full of little nuances and interesting distractions that help flesh out the admittedly brief teaser. More importantly, you can also finish the demo in a variety of different ways.

Here’s how to do it.

1) Backdoor exit

The most obvious conclusion to the demo is to find the key to the back door and slip outside. To do this, you’ll need to first acquire the bolt cutters, found poking conspicuously out of the remains of an animal carcass right in front of your exit. Grab these and use them on the cabinet behind you to grab the videotape. Next, play the tape in the VCR in the room you started in and view the playable flashback to its conclusion. Once this has done, access the hidden room by pulling on the level in the fireplace, allowing you to grab the key. Take this to the back door and use it to complete the demo.

2) The attic, call 1

From the start, immediately open the hidden room via the fireplace and go inside. To the left, on the stool, you’ll find a fuse. Grab this and place it in the missing compartment in the fuse box on the far wall of the living room. Next, head up the stairs and hit the button on the wall to lower the access stairs to the attic. Climb these and you’ll hear a distant ringing. Enter the room on the right wall and you’ll find the source of the ringing; a phone sitting on a desk next to a photograph of a chopper. Pick up the phone to receive an ominous message. You’ll then attempt to leave only to have the demo come to an abrupt end.

3) The attic, call 2

This will net you slightly different dialogue in the phone call. First, grab the fuse and then view the videotape to the end to obtain key (viewing the tape until the end will make the fuse vanish). Next, make your way to the attic in the usual manner, and then answer the phone. The woman on the other end will deliver a new message.

4) The attic, call 3

This is performed in exactly the same manner as ending 2, although you must be extra quick about obtaining the fuse, getting into the attic, and answering the phone call. Run the whole way as fast as you can!

Rest assured, if we find out more endings we’ll be sure to add them here.
