Resident Evil 7: biohazard has debuted at no.1 on the U.K. All Format Chart following its worldwide launch last Tuesday, according to Chart-Track, with sales on PS4 topping its Xbox One counterpart.
The latest entry in Capcom’s survival horror franchise has also recorded the third best launch in the series’ history, with Resident Evil 5 currently holding the top position. Furthermore, the PlayStation 4 version of Resident Evil 7 outsold the Xbox One by a significant margin, with 73 percent of all copies sold on Sony’s console.
In related news, Chart-Track has confirmed that Resident Evil is Capcom’s most successful franchise in the U.K., and sits roughly on par with the likes of Crash Bandicoot and Just Dance. However, it didn’t quite crack the top 30 based on revenue generated from game sales since 1996.
