Fresh details on Resident Evil 8 have surfaced via the recent playtest that took place for Ambassadors, describing the content in the game’s prologue as well as some other snippets of info on enemies and other points of interest.
New Resident Evil 8 Details Revealed
As reported by Biohazard Declassified via a trusted source, the opening sequence is similar to that of what we’ve seen in the trailer. Here, Mia Winters reads a story to her daughter, after which Ethan is free to explore the house, reading notes that drip-feed you some plot details such as the family being free of the E-Virus. It’s also been revealed that Ethan has been training with Chris Redfield after the events of RE7.
Once you put the baby to bed, Ethan attempts to converse with Mia while she’s cooking, but she seems distant and not interesting in chatting. At this point, bullets shatter the kitchen window and Mia is hit, but not killed outright. Chris then comes in and finishes the job like we’ve seen in the trailer, with Ethan uttering ‘What the hell, Chris?’
After this, Chris, Ethan and the baby depart in a vehicle, which later crashes leading to Ethan coming too and finding a broken cells phone. He ventures into the woods, eventually coming across a cabin that reportedly ‘sets the tone for the architecture to expect in the rest of the village.’
Ethan later comes across the main village and enters a cabin to find an old man hiding behind a curtain, who hands I’m a pistol while warning him of impending danger. The weapon is unloaded, but before you can locate any ammo, the man is pull through the ceiling by a massive arm.
Next, you’re pulled through the floorboards and find yourself surrounded by the beast-like enemies, though you can defend yourself with a shotgun you locate as well as ammo for the pistol. The creatures deal huge damage, but can reportedly be displayed with a single blast to the head with the shotgun.
