Capcon has released a playable demo for Resident Evil Requiem on the PlayStation Store, offering you the chance to take the survival horror title for a spin if you’re still on the fence about buying it.
This is a bit of a surprise considering Capcom has released demos for most of its Resident Evil games (Resident Evil VII: Beginning Hour and Resident Evil Village’s Maiden Demo spring to mind) prior to the main game launch, but Requiem’s demo for whatever reason has come three months after release.
The demo version allows you to play part of the game’s early stages. Please note that save data from the demo version cannot be transferred to the full version of the game.
Resident Evil Requiem was released for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on February 27, 2026. The game takes place around 28 years after the destruction of Raccoon City as depicted in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and its remake, and introduces Grace Ashcroft, an FBI agent (and daughter of Alyssa from Resident Evil Outbreak) as she investigates a mysterious death at an abandoned hotel, the same location her mother was murdered some years before.
Meanwhile, series veteran Leon S. Kennedy is investigating a string of deaths that are linked to the T-Virus outbreak of 1998, eventually crossing paths with Grace as they embark on a quest that links back to the now-destroyed Raccoon City.
Capcom has confirmed that it is working on a story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem, and recently released the Leon Must Die Forever mini-game as a free download. In addition, the game’s director revealed that an entire chapter was cut from the final version of the game ahead of launch.
