Resident Evil Requiem On PS5 Pro Offers 4K/60 FPS With Ray Tracing On

Resident Evil Requiem Director Akishi Nakanishi has revealed that PS5 Pro users will enjoy a number of features for Capcom’s upcoming horror title.

For starters, ray-tracing can be turned on and off for PS5 Pro users, but when it’s turned on, Resident Evil Requiem will run in 4K resolution and at 60 FPS. Meanwhile, those of you with a monitor that supports high frame rates can play the game at up to 120 FPS, with the game offering an average of 90 FPS when played on PS5 Pro this way.

Nakanishi-san commented:

What personally impressed me about the PS5 Pro was its high frame rate. You might be wondering if you can really tell the difference, but when you go back to 60fps, it still feels a bit lacking. The difference in the amount of information makes the world seem more persuasive.

Resident Evil Requiem is set for release on February 27, 2026 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. The game takes place around 30 years after the destruction of Raccoon City, and introduces newcomer Grace Ashcroft, an FBI investigating a series of murders a the Wrenwood hotel. This location is also the same place that her mother — Resident Evil Outbreak’s Alyssa — was killed some years before.

Meanwhile, series veteran Leon S. Kennedy is still working as a DSO agent and has been dispatched to investigate the dealings of Dr. Victor Gideon, a former Umbrella scientist. Both characters are playable in the game, with Grace’s aligning more with classic survival horror while Leon’s sections are geared more towards action.
